SMOOT CONSTRUCTION SMOOT CONSTRUCTION Allston, MA Allston, MA Full-time Full-time $90,000 - $130,000 a year $90,000 - $130,000 a year The Project Superintendent is responsible for managing and directing all construction site activities including, project progress, management of corporate safety program, and resource allocation.
The superintendent will also be responsible for coordinating materials and equipment delivery and collaborating with the project team to determine additional needs.
The Project Superintendent is accountable for ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and free of workmanship deficiencies.
The candidate should have excellent communication skills and provide leadership to the team and project.
Primary Responsibility:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
1.
Develop and execute all elements of the project plan, including support of budget, awarding of work, schedule, etc.
2.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and team.
3.
Manage the overall field activities of project personnel and ensure that project milestones and dates are met in collaboration with the Project Manager.
4.
Ensure that all aspects of the project comply with company, contract, and safety requirements and support overall construction schedule.
5.
Interface with clients or other representatives to discuss status, identify and resolve any problems.
6.
Provide support for construction effort including participation in design interpretation, application of construction methods, identification, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, constructability reviews, etc.
; all to help determine the most cost effective and schedule efficient method of construction.
7.
Complete project schedule development (CPM network), responsible for continual updating and schedule maintenance, monitoring for adherence, and advisement of potential schedule problem/impact.
8.
Interface with project team to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, maintain specification integrity, etc.
in support of overall project schedule.
9.
Represent company as required during design review meetings with the A/E, project coordination meeting with contractors, etc.
Assist in preparing special reports, studies and etc.
as requested by client or in support of project management.
10.
Review project documents and/or requirements to confirm contract/purchase order scope is maintained in accordance with contractual requirements.
Verify contractor and/or vendor has adequate information to supply required material, labor and equipment to complete required work scope within scheduled time durations.
11.
Responsible for assisting with submittal tracking, project logs; all processing, coordination, and documentation as required to facilitate project.
Skills, Certifications, and
Experience:
5
years similar construction experience.
Capacity to manage and lead teams Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, building codes and standards, etc.
Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills required.
Computer skills for daily activities required Demonstrated ability to manage varied disciplines is essential.
Instant situation diagnosis, problem recognition and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to work varied schedules as needed Minimum of a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent training and experience preferred.
Additional Comments:

Key Supervisory person on site.
Must thoroughly understand all project phases.
2.
Provide technical input in support of field activities.
3.
Must understand construction disciplines, all technical aspects.
4.
Ability to train subordinate engineers required.
